How do dolphins live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 8

Dolphins are highly intelligent marine mammals found in oceans around the world, with species living in coastal waters, open seas, and even rivers. They are social creatures, living in groups called pods that can range from a few individuals to hundreds. Dolphins are carnivores and primarily feed on fish, squid, and other small marine animals. They use echolocation to locate prey, emitting high-frequency sounds that bounce off objects, allowing them to “see” their surroundings through sound waves. Dolphins communicate using a variety of vocalizations, body movements, and postures. They are known for their playful behavior and strong social bonds within their pods. Dolphins reproduce sexually, with females giving birth to a single calf after a gestation period of 10-12 months. The calf is nursed by the mother and stays with the pod for several years as it learns to hunt and communicate.
