How do orangutans live?
- ๐๏ธ 8
Orangutans are large primates found in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. They are highly intelligent and predominantly arboreal, spending most of their time in trees, where they build nests out of leaves and branches. Orangutans are herbivores, feeding on a variety of fruits, leaves, and bark, with a preference for fruit. They are solitary animals, with males and females only coming together to mate. Orangutans have slow reproductive rates, with females giving birth to a single offspring every 6-8 years, after a gestation period of about 8.5 months. They have a strong sense of territoriality and communicate using vocalizations and gestures.
